In 1790, Brookhaven Town's leaders decided to move the seat of local government from Setauket to the more central location of Coram. Starting about 1800, the Davis home served as the location of the annual April town meeting, and hosted the meeting over 80 times, until 1885, when the town was divided into election districts.

Annually Coram celebrates the event in October. From 1784 to 1885, Coram served as the meeting place for the Town of Brookhaven government, using the Davis Town Meeting House for much of that period. [5] The Davis House, built in the 1750s, was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001 and is the oldest existing structure in Coram.

The route turns northward, crossing an interchange with Canal Road. The route passes multiple residential communities, crossing a junction with Mount Sinai–Coram Road.

Holy Sepulchre Cemetery is a Roman Catholic cemetery located on the northwest corner of New York State Route 112 and Granny Road in Coram, New York. The cemetery was founded in 1942, and is part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Rockville Centre .
