Richland Township is a 2nd Class Township and governs with a home rule charter. The Board of Supervisors is the governing body in the Township. Five Supervisors are elected by the qualified voters of the Township. Four supervisors are elected from each district and one supervisor is elected from the Township at large.
Important highways in Richland Township include State Routes 117, 235, 273, 366, and 368. The township is the location of the Bickham Covered Bridge, which carries County Road 38 over the South Fork of the Miami River. Built in 1877 and refurbished in 1959, it employs the Howe truss design. The bridge's length is 94 feet (29 m). [7] [8] [9]
