Segments of SR 204 Spur are named Montgomery Cross Road, Waters Avenue, Whitfield Avenue, Diamond Causeway, and Tidewater Way. [3] SR 204 Spur was turned over to local control as part of the deal with the Georgia Department of Transportation that extended SR 17 onto the Jimmy DeLoach Parkway and truncated the eastern terminus of SR 204 to SR 21.
December: The report "The Case for the Casey Canal Parkway" was released. The site is operated by the National Park Service, with its centerpieces being the Truman Home in Independence and the Truman Farm Home in Grandview. It also includes the Noland home of Truman's cousins, and the George and Frank Wallace homes of Bess Truman's brothers. The site was designated a National Historic Site on May 23, 1983. [5]
