David Moyes (14 October 1955 – 16 April 2024) was a Scottish professional footballer who played as a defender. He started his career at Preston Athletic before signing for Berwick Rangers in 1975. [1] He stayed at Berwick for eight years and was a key member of the squad which won the Second division title in 1979.
He was replaced by fellow Scot David Moyes who led the club back into European football and also signed back striker Duncan Ferguson, before finishing fifth in the 2006–07 season. Under Moyes's 11-year managership, the club prospered, qualifying for the Champions League in 2005 and reaching the FA Cup final in 2009.
