Japan put a strong contender on the market that was basically a toyota camery with a full size truck bed on it. They came in the market to compete and didn't believe bigger was better. In 2007 my 1994 T100 still has the largest bed for a 1/2 ton truck. The only drawback was the lack of extended cab which was addressed in 1995.
