This is a list of weapons used by Czechoslovakia during its interwar period (1918–1938). These include weapons that were designed and manufactured in Czechoslovakia and Czechoslovak modifications to existing weapons, like the Schwarzlose machine gun.
The pistole vz. 22 was the first Czech Army pistol of the inter-war period. The vz. 22 was based upon the work of Mauser designer Josef Nickl's Model 1915 handgun. Slovakia seized over seven thousand vz. 22s when it declared its independence from Czechoslovakia in March 1939.
In 1970, an update of the Vz. 50 was released with minor cosmetic changes and internal improvements called the Vz. 70 (also known as CZ 70). [2] These changes included: New grip shape with a larger recess (Called the "tang") for the web between thumb and finger.
The CZ 2075 RAMI will also accept all standard CZ 75 mags, including the 18 round SP-01 magazine, 19 round SP-01 magazine, and ProMag 32-round magazine. The CZ2075 RAMI polymer version was discontinued as of 2011, and the alloy frame version was discontinued in the .40 S&W caliber in 2016 [ 5 ] and in the 9mm in 2020.
Česká zbrojovka a.s. (ČZ a.s.) is a Czech company producing forklifts Desta and components for the automobile industry, it is former firearms manufacturer, also known for making ČZ motorcycles. ČZ was established as a branch of the Škoda Works Armament in Strakonice , Czechoslovakia in September 1919.
The CZ 85 is an updated version of the CZ 75, with slight changes made to internal parts to increase reliability. It has an ambidextrous safety switch and slide stop, making the pistol suitable for both right- and left-handed shooters. The ČZ vz. 27 pistol confiscated from a Colditz guard by Flt. Lt. Dominic Bruce OBE MC AFM KSG (aka The Medium Sized Man) Construction of the pistol continued in Czechoslovakia until the 1950s. Allegedly, the Czechoslovak military authorities sold five and a half thousand surplus vz. 27s to the Swiss in 1973 for half a million marks.
