The World of Bears area was mainly constructed during the 1997-98 expansion of Silver Springs. In that area were the World of Bears, Wilderness Trail ride, a gift shop, Kids Ahoy! Playland, the carousel, and the former location of the Lost River Voyage boat ride. During the 2013 state takeover of the park, the entire area was shut down.
