Imbewu: The Seed is a South African television drama series created by Duma Ndlovu, who also served as executive producer alongside Anant Singh and Leleti Khumalo.It is an e.tv original series produced by Grapevine Productions, a co-production between Word of Mouth Productions, Videovision Entertainment [1] and Luyks Productions, commissioned and distributed by e.tv.
Duma Ndlovu (born 12 October 1954) is a South African poet, filmmaker, producer, journalist and playwright. [1] He is well known in the South African television industry, [2] having created award-winning shows such as Muvhango, Imbewu: The Seed and Uzalo. [3]
In 2019, she joined with the regular cast of second season of e.tv soap opera Imbewu and played the role "Abigail Miya" until the fourth season up to date. [11] After moving to Durban, she started her radio career as a content producer on many radio stations in KwaZulu-Natal, such as Ukhozi FM and Gagasi 99.5 FM and worked until 2016. [7]
Khanyisile Mbau was born on 16 October 1985. Her mother, Lynette Sisi Mbau, worked in the finance department of the pension fund at Barclays Bank. Her father, Menzi Mcunu, [5] was not married to her mother at the time as the couple were only dating. Mcunu had no claim to the child but he named her nevertheless: Khanyisile, one who brings light.
Thembi Mtshali-Jones (born 7 November 1949), is a South African actress. [1] Considered as one of South Africa's most celebrated artists, Thembi is notable for the roles in the several popular television serials including Sgudi 'Snaysi, Stokvel, Silent Witness and Imbewu. [2]
In 2021, she appeared in the etv. serial Imbewu. [9] [10] [11] Apart from acting, she is the Managing Director and Founder of the women empowerment movement "Zazi Zithande Zithembe" and recruitment company "Ellenina Professional Recruitment" since 2012 and 2008 respectively. Meanwhile, she produces and hosts the show on Tru FM.
