Winter Haven is a city in Polk County, Florida, United States. It is located about 51 miles (82 km) east of Tampa and about 47 miles (76 km) southwest of Orlando, with neighboring Lakeland located to its west. The city's population was 49,219 at the 2020 census, making it the second most populated city in Polk County after Lakeland.
Lake Henry, a lake that borders on the northeast side of Winter Haven, Florida, has a surface area of 848-acre (3,430,000 m 2). The southwest corner of the lake is inside the Winter Haven City limits. All of the south side of the lake is bordered by mobile home parks and housing developments.
The road enters the Winter Haven City Limits at Cooley Road, and is given the name Recker Highway. At the next block, SR 620 is joined by the overlap with Florida State Road 655 at Lake Shipp Drive, but due to the truck restrictions along Lake Shipp Drive no signage for SR 655 exist until after the intersection with Avenue Q.

Middle Lake Hamilton, is a natural freshwater lake on the northeast edge of Winter Haven, Florida. At one point on the north shore the Winter Haven city limits touches the lake's shore. This lake has an 103-acre (420,000 m 2) surface area.
