The Government College Chamba generally known as Government Post Graduate College, Chamba at Chamba, Himachal Pradesh, India was established in 1958.The college is affiliated to Sardar Patel University Mandi, Shimla and has switched to Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) for Under Graduate classes from academic session 2013-14 under the guidelines of Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA).

The college campus has administrative office, faculty buildings, classrooms, sports grounds, hall and library. It also houses an ancient swimming pool made of marble in the middle of the campus. The college was established in 1981 and was originally affiliated to Pandit Ravishankar Shukla University. [citation needed] In 1985 it became affiliated to Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya and shifted to its current campus. In 2011 it became affiliated to Bilaspur University. [2]

It was then known as the Arts and Home Science Girls College. The number of girl students at that time was 20–25. The society carried on its work until 1997, after which it handed over administration to Siksha Prasar Samiti, that continued working from Oct 1977 to Sept. 1982, during these years the number of girls student was 150–200.
The College of Medical Technology offers B.Sc. courses in nursing and BSc/MSc courses in paramedical technology in allied sciences. The institute is an autonomous institution. The institute functions as a state college is a member of the Association of Indian Universities, and is recognized by the College Grants Commission.
