In an industry it is important to describe a system's behavior when it responds to a request that originates from outside : the use cases [5] have become popular for requirements [1] between the engineers thanks to its features like the visual modeling technique, they describe a system from an actor's viewpoint and its format explicitly conveys each actor's goals and the flows the system must ...
The Requirements Modeling Framework (RMF) is an open-source software framework for working with requirements based on the ReqIF standard. RMF consists of a core allowing reading, writing and manipulating ReqIF data, and a user interface allowing to inspect and edit request data.
Unlike the major six tool capabilities (see above), the following categories are introduced for the list, which correlate closer with the product marketing or summarizes capabilities, such as requirements management (including the elicitation, analysis and specification parts) and test management (meaning verification & validation capabilities).
Analyzing requirements: determining whether the stated requirements are clear, complete, unduplicated, concise, valid, consistent and unambiguous, and resolving any apparent conflicts. Analyzing can also include sizing requirements. Requirements analysis can be a long and tiring process during which many delicate psychological skills are involved.
Data modeling techniques and methodologies are used to model data in a standard, consistent, predictable manner in order to manage it as a resource. The use of data modeling standards is strongly recommended for all projects requiring a standard means of defining and analyzing data within an organization, e.g., using data modeling:
Use cases are a technique for capturing, modeling, and specifying the requirements of a system. [10] A use case corresponds to a set of behaviors that the system may perform in interaction with its actors, and which produces an observable result that contributes to its goals.
Goal is used to define the functional requirements of the system. In GRL notation goal is represented by a rounded rectangle with the goal name inside. Task is used to represent different ways of how to accomplish goal. In GRL notation task is represented by hexagon with the task name inside. Softgoal is used to define non-functional requirements.
Logical Data Modelling The process of identifying, modelling and documenting the data requirements of the system being designed. The result is a data model containing entities (things about which a business needs to record information), attributes (facts about the entities) and relationships (associations between the entities).
