Ocean Pines [ˈə͡ʊʃən pˈa͡ɪnz] is a census-designated place (CDP) in Worcester County, Maryland, United States.The population was 11,710 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Salisbury, Maryland-Delaware Metropolitan Statistical Area.
DE 1 was co-signed with DE 14 through the Delaware beach communities until 1976, when DE 14 was truncated at Milford. [ 125 ] [ 151 ] The DE 1 designation was extended north by 1988 along US 113 from Milford to Dover and continuing north along US 13 toward Christiana to connect sections of the Relief Route as they were completed.
The current Salisbury–Ocean Pines Combined Statistical Area consists of the Salisbury metropolitan area and the Ocean Pines micropolitan area. As of the 2000 Census, the CSA had a population of 155,934 (though a July 1, 2009 estimate placed the population at 169,303).

Worcester County was created by the division of the formerly larger Eastern Shore's Somerset County in 1742. The county seat, which was previously located near the confluence of Dividing Creek with the Pocomoke River, was later transferred to the river port of Snow Hill, at the head of navigation of the Pocomoke, now near the center of the new county.
