    www.reddit.com/r/Reaper/comments/htoxtg/why_is_reaper_not_the_generally_accepted

Reaper's true value is in the customization, but the default setup is kind of lacking. But once you make these changes, it doesn't really work in a big studio with seat rotation. Pro tools: 85/100. Reaper pre customization: 60/100. Reaper post customization: 90/100.

  3. The Ultimate beginners guide to REAPER DAW - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/.../mc7xah/the_ultimate_beginners_guide_to_reaper_daw_audio

The Ultimate beginners guide to REAPER DAW | audio and midi recording. Beginner here, I think tutorials with so many bought plugins are not very appealing to us. Especially in this day and age when we have so many high-quality free (spitfire labs), and even FOSS (Vital, Surge, and Dragonfly) software.

  4. Is Reaper really free somewhere? : r/audioengineering - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/audioengineering/comments/1c9eiol/is_reaper_really_free_somewhere

I have clients who often ask me for free DAW recommendations and I'd love to be able to recommend Reaper if there is actually a free version of it somewhere. I currently do mention it as a paid option, but I don't really feel comfortable recommending it as a free option unless there really is an unlimited, unrestricted, free-forever version ...

  5. What happens after 60 days trial ? : r/Reaper - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/Reaper/comments/k7ylsk/what_happens_after_60_days_trial

My thought was always if you're willing to use it for more than 60 days, you should buy a license; at that point, you're interested in the continued development of the project, and should support it if able, and uninstall if not. If you're looking at any comparable software, you're looking to spend at least double what Reaper costs. 7. Reply.

It's $60 (or $225 if you're using it in a high-volume enough studio), which is nothing compared to $700 for Pro Tools. Please, please stop suggesting Reaper as a "forever free" DAW. You may try it in its full form for 60 days to decide if you want to fork out the $60. As a software developer and musician, this double standard really bugs me.

  7. Is CakeWalk a DAW that I can transfer skills from to Reaper?

    www.reddit.com/r/Reaper/comments/17vb75u/is_cakewalk_a_daw_that_i_can_transfer...

Cakewalk is probably one of the closest DAWs to Reaper. It even also has its own equivalent of the Reaper JS scripting (using CAL). I made the transition from one to the other quickly, the only thing I missed were the lack of skeumorphic plugins inside the DAW for things like compression and reverb. 5. Reply.

  8. Why does Reaper have a reputation as a really difficult DAW?

    www.reddit.com/r/Reaper/comments/ufxscp/why_does_reaper_have_a_reputation_as_a...

Reaper was the first DAW I learned on about 4-5 years ago, and subsequently every other DAW feels considerably limited to me. I’ve never minded options in routing, track type selection, or customizability to the max, and personally love the action list and extensions like SWS. I have logic, LUNA, and have used ableton as well in the past.

    www.reddit.com/r/Reaper/comments/kz7lwf/cons_to_reaper_and_disadvantages...

The reasonable individual pricing leads people to conclude that it's a beginner DAW. The exact is Reaper's actual cost is $250 (or something), and to me it is worth every penny. Reaper is actually a hardcore tool kit for audio professionals. It's just that Cockos have opted not to rob people and set the individual license to be very reasonably ...

  10. Ardour vs Reaper as a “free” DAW : r/audioengineering - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/audioengineering/comments/oonljz/ardour_vs_reaper_as_a_free_daw

A Reaper license is a one time investment of 60 bucks which is less than one night of drinking for a university student. If you want to encourage open-source because of the possibilities to create own plugins and mods to the DAW and whatnot Reaper would fit that bill aswell. Nearly limitless visual customization is just the tip of the iceberg.
