Annabeth's whiteness was confirmed through character art. No where in the books did it say that 'Annabeth Chase is white.'. We all just assumed she was. I did too. Considering Clarisse and Silena Beauregard were always black/asian-respectively- to me, it was a shock to see that Clarisse is white AND blonde in Viria's art.
And while Annabeth is by no means a Percy fan at the beginning, she isn’t so overtly rude to him. She should be cool, calculated, and analytical. She’s supposed to be the most grown up, levelheaded demigod out there but she’s portrayed as an overconfident and cocky 12 year old.
PERCY ISN'T OLIVE SKINNED OR MEDITERRANEAN COMPLEXION'D IT'S LITERALLY JUST A BIG MANDELA EFFECT. Like "olive skinned" and "has a Mediterranean complexion" show up all over the place on the internet, but if you look in the books, it literally never says this. The most Percy's skin color is ever implied is in the 4th book when it says it's pinkish.

Percy and Annabeth finding each other is really inspiring for people who felt seen by the books, I think it’s cute that Percabeth has a lot of hype. While it is a little unfortunate that Percy’s very real relationships with other characters fall by the wayside (in fandom) to hype up and focus on his relationship with Annabeth, at least ...

Annabeth and Percy team up to a camp activity only to find the maze. Annabeth gets told her love will be lost and thinks it’s Percy. Annabeth goes through the entire quest thinking she’ll lose Percy. Then Percy Sacrifices himself, and she mourns for a while only for him to show up at his funeral.
I honestly agree with you on the character descriptions. I initially ran into that problem when I watched the movies when I was younger. When they first introduced Annabeth, I thought she was Clarisse. Then when they introduced Clarisse, I thought she was Thalia. Changing character looks was just confusing in my opinion.
