H50 BMG and H 869). My best 1000 yard load for the 7mm rem mag was H 4831 and a Remington 9 1/2 mag primer. and 168grain SMKs (There are 3 or 4 other primers that are hotter). When I tried the 215s it bumped the velocity up but the SDs also went up (SDs were 9 with. the 9 1/2s and it went to over 30 with the fed 210s)
Potomac River. Mar 21, 2007. #3. There is a great deal of similarity between the Wby 378 case and the 338 LM case. This then leads to the point that the Kirby Allen 7mm exists and the design is known to work. I don't know the difficulties of getting an American made custom rifle into Australia, but if it is not a big problem then you should ...
N.E. Louisiana. Apr 30, 2018. #2. I personally use Federal brass and have about 3-4 firings with no issues, but I can't say it's the best. Federal is all I have ever used in my 7mm rem mag. I read a lot about Nosler brass being the best, or at least one of the best, but I have no first hand experience with Nosler.

May 2, 2019. #1. Hi, I'm looking to acquire a first gen remington sendero in 7mm rem mag with a 1-9.25 twist. I'm looking for some real world experience or thoughts on shooting 175gr-180gr bergers with this twist. I went to Berger's website and it's very marginal with approximate speeds in the 2,800-2,900fps with Retumbo or H1000.
Before the advent of long for caliber and nonmetallic bullets, factory rifles used the 1:9" for the most part. Here is the short list of factory twist rates: 7mm Remington Magnum - 1 in 9"...HVA; Rem 40-XB, 700 (1969); Magnum Research Mountain Eagle; T/C Rifle. 7mm Remington Mag. - 1 in 9-1/4".... Remington 700; Savage 110, 111, 112, 114, 116 ...
As far as a Berger in 140 class, I have had very good luck with about 68-69 grains of H1000' and WLR primers. Also have good luck with about 68.5 -RL22, and 215 primers. Bergers have a sweet spot, mine happens to be with a COAL of 3.336. In my 700 P, that happens to be about .040 off the lands.
Possibly, he was referring to (but I doubt it), the 7mm Express Remington (also commonly called the 7mm-06 Remington), which later got named the .280 Remington. If this is the actual case, then there's about 250 +/- FPS difference in the .280 Rem and the 7mm RM with the same weight bullets and same barrel lengths. W.
It comes with an adjustable Muzzel Brake two months ago. It took a little getting used to. Remembering to turn it on. Forgetting to turn it on and shooting, (one) the noise level is greater and (two) it kicks a bit.. I like it a whole better with the brake on, smooth as silk and less noise. My son say's his 270 kicks more than my 7mm.
I want to re-barrel (24-inch SS) my trusty lefty 700 BDL Custom Deluxe .30-06 with SAKO-style extractor and custom Decelerator pad, so I'm letting this stock 700 SPS 7mm Magnum go.
