Legoland Windsor Resort (/ ˈ l ɛ ɡ oʊ. l æ n d w ɪ n d. s ər /), styled and also known as Legoland Windsor, is a theme park and resort in Windsor, Berkshire in England, themed around the Lego brand. [2] The park opened on 17 March 1996 and is currently operated by Merlin Entertainments.

It opened in 2007, later than expected because of construction delays. The ride was a river rapids ride which is a common attraction in many theme parks. The ride was in the "Land of the Vikings" area of the park. [2] On Tuesday 29 August 2023, Legoland Windsor announced the ride will close permanently on Monday 25 September 2023. [3]

On January 19, 2012, Legoland California confirmed that they would build a new attraction for the 2012 season called Pirate Reef, a Hopkins shoot-the-chutes attraction. [3] It is themed to pirates and features 28 new Lego models for the park. The 28 new models are made out of 250,000 Lego bricks. [1]
