The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is an Indian national Parliamentary group in the country of India. It is the Bharatiya Janata Party-led alliance founded by the former Prime Minister of India Atal Bihari Vajpayee and the former Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of India L. K. Advani in 1998.
The National Democratic Alliance was formed in 1992 by 10 nationalist political parities and was led by Khandaker Moshtaque Ahmed. [1] Khandaker Abdur Rashid, a convicted assassin of Bangladesh's first president, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was elected to parliament from Comilla-6 as a nominee of the National Democratic Alliance. [2]
