Ruby Princess is a Crown-class cruise ship operated by Princess Cruises, a subsidiary of Carnival Corporation & plc. At 113,561 GT , the vessel is the third and last in a series of three ships, known as the Crown class, that was built with design modifications distinguishing them from their older Grand -class sister ships.
The ship houses 1,830 passenger cabins and 757 crew cabins. [1] Of the 1,830 passenger cabins, 81% have a balcony. [1] The ship has a maximum capacity of 5,800 passengers and crew. [1] On board, the ship includes many of the same modifications in accommodations and offerings first introduced on her sister ship, Sky Princess.
In the late 1980s the ship was again refurbished. This time the casino was moved to where the cinema balcony had been, with conference rooms and deluxe cabins built in place of the former casino. [3] She continued her popular west-coast cruises until 1991, when transferred to cruising from Fort Laurendale to the Bahamas.
