1 Like. andawaywego February 4, 2020, 10:21pm 12. Here is how I would rank the NESCAC schools based on reputation / prestige. I’ve included admitted median SAT scores in parentheses for the most recent class of 2023 (you can double-check for accuracy), and noted the schools that are test optional. Tier 1: Williams (1480), Amherst (1490) Tier ...
Athletic Recruits. Paso2424 March 25, 2021, 7:10pm 1. Was curious if anyone is experiencing NESCAC athletic recruiting in the class of 2021 or can provide their experience in prior years. Son is being looked at for both football and lacrosse at various NESCAC schools. The test optional component is confusing us.
Most NESCAC coaches do not ask admissions to do a crazy high number of pre-reads relative to slots (admissions would be unhappy)…so getting a pre-read is significant. NESCAC pre-reads start July 1, some coaches will ask for the info in the last few weeks of June…typically test scores, unofficial 6 semester transcript, resume.
I have a 2025 track daughter who is interested in NESCACs, Ivys and a couple Patriot League programs. She is getting good interest from NESCACs, more lukewarm from the Ivy/Patriot League D1s. She is on the bubble of recruiting times for the Ivys but hits most “team/walk-on” standards. Decent student - 3.75 GPA unweighted with 1450 SAT from ...

The NESCACs probably tend to have lower acceptance rates and higher yields: for example, several NESCACs have acceptance rates below 20%, which does not appear to be a level currently reached by any UAA school. But being more selective does not necessarily mean better academically.
. gadad June 2, 2009, 5:58pm 3.

Multiple NESCAC schools have been recruiting my son (a current high school junior). While I am rather familiar with the “normal” recruiting process, the NESCAC situation seems to be a little more complex. Prior to the spring, we knew little to nothing about the NESCAC schools, but it seems my son has taken a liking to them. That being said, we are trying to navigate whether or not it will ...
Athletic Recruits. basketballdad September 22, 2010, 9:48am 1.
The forums seem to indicate that some of the NESCAC schools admit below average, for their school standards, students if they are desirable athletes.
.
If your son/daughter has been admitted to a NESCAC school with < 4.0 GPA and ~1600 (2400 scale) SAT scores, please tell ...
I am curious at the timing and peoples experiences for the pre-reads in all NESCAC and UAA schools. My son has had three pre-reads so far - a smaller division 1 in the patriot league, a UAA (which I thought was early?) and another small D1 down south. When do other D3s start? I am aware that NESCAC is July 1. Also, can people share how many positives versus negatives they had pre-reads? Were ...
