He also recorded a slightly updated arrangement of this song on his 1965 RCA Victor Billboard Top 40 album The Heart of Christmas ( Cuor' Di Natale ).

"Suona la tromba" (The trumpet sounds) or Inno popolare (Hymn of the people) is a secular hymn composed by Giuseppe Verdi in 1848 to a text by the Italian poet and patriot Goffredo Mameli. The work's title comes from the opening line of Mameli's poem. It has sometimes been referred to as "Grido di guerra".

The hymn of the genre Neues Geistliches Lied (NGL) appears in the 2013 hymnal Gotteslob, and in other songbooks. It is both a confession of faith and a song of encouragement.
