Morgan County Courthouse-- located in downtown McConnelsville, the Greek Revival style building was designed by architect William P. Johnson and built in 1858 at a cost of $10,000. In 1847, the theretofore weekly Herald published its first daily edition. The initiator of this move was William R. Allison, who owned and edited the paper from 1846 to 1873.
