Telangana State Archaeology Museum then known as Hyderabad Museum was first established in 1927. The museum was then located at Town Hall where today Stated Assembly is located. The museum was later shifted to the present building constructed by the seventh Nizam. In 1930 the museum was named as Hyderabad Museum by the Nizam. [1]
The museum has brought nearly 4,000 years of history of the city, through archaeological evidence such as the neolithic pots, megalithic sites, European styled terracotta figurines, coins of Satvahana period among others. As a result of formation of A. P. State in 1956, the Department of Archaeology and Museums, Hyderabad was expanded and it became known as Andhra Pradesh Department of Archaeology and Museums in the year 1960. [1]

This is a list of Telangana's monuments of national importance that are officially recognized and available through the website of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). [ 1 ] [ 2 ] These archaeological sites are in the Indian state of Telangana ; however, the published list has not been updated since the creation of Telangana in 2014.
