The 2026 United States Senate election in Illinois will be held on November 3, 2026, to elect a member of the United States Senate to represent the State of Illinois. Incumbent Democratic senator Dick Durbin is eligible to run for reelection, having been re-elected in 2020 with 54.9% of the vote, but has yet to indicate whether he will do so.
All 33 Class 2 Senate seats and 2 Class 3 seats are up for election in 2026; Class 2 currently consists of 20 Republicans and 13 Democrats. If vacancies occur in Class 1 or 3 Senate seats, that state might require a special election to take place during the 119th Congress, possibly concurrently with the other 2026 Senate elections.
