Interstate 74 (I-74) is the central freeway through the Iowa Quad Cities.It roughly divides Davenport to the west and Bettendorf to the east. The Interstate Highway begins at an interchange with I-80 at the northeastern edge of Davenport and continues into Illinois at the Mississippi River by crossing the I-74 Bridge.
In 1973, St. Katharine's St. Mark's moved to its current location, the former home of Joseph Bettendorf, and by 1980, the school amicably broke ties with the Episcopal Church. In 2001, the board of trustees voted to change the name of the school to Rivermont Collegiate, in order to reduce confusion about its religious affiliation .
Joseph Bettendorf, born in 1864, built this 28-room house from 1914 to 1915. It was designed by Davenport architect Arthur H. Ebeling, who referred to Bettendorf as the "fussy one." [4] Craftsmen were brought from Europe to build the home.

On April 21, 1995, the Lady Luck Bettendorf began operating after being granted an excursion gaming license earlier that year. [1] It was not the first, nor the only riverboat casino at the time in the Quad Cities; Diamond Lady began operating April 1, 1991 in Bettendorf, while President sailed from Davenport, Iowa and Jumer's Casino was working out of Rock Island, Illinois.
