They released their first album, Almost Here, in 1998 on Virgin, [1] and although being subsequently dropped by Virgin, the album had some success. [5] In 2000, the band released their next album Sorrythankyou on Shifty Disco, the first from that label to be pressed in vinyl. The group parted ways in 2000 due to Yorke's decision to leave the band.

Almost Here was released through Virgin Records on 11 May 1998. The band promoted it with a launch show at the Virgin Megastore in Oxford, prior to a UK tour for the rest of the month. Shortly afterwards, they appeared at T in the Park and Glastonbury Festival. [10] Almost Here was issued in the US on 20 October 1998. [11]
