Dobel was created by and named after Juan Domingo Beckmann Legorreta (Dobel being an acronym formed by the first syllables of Domingo Beckmann Legorreta). Beckmann was the eleventh-generation leader of Jose Cuervo tequilas, in collaboration with master distillers ("Maestros") Marco Anguiano and Luis Yerenas. [1] [2] It was introduced in 2008. [3]
Proximo Spirits was founded in 2007 by the Beckmann family, who also owned and operated Jose Cuervo. [2] In a deal announced in March 2013, Proximo took over the Jose Cuervo distribution rights from Diageo on July 1, 2013.

35% abv but 80 proof? This is not consistent. I have a bottle of their Diamante, their only product which fits the blending of ages and clear filtering description, and it says 40% on the bottle.
