Popcorn Park Animal Refuge is a small non-profit 7-acre (2.8 ha) animal refuge and sanctuary located in Forked River, New Jersey, within Lacey Township.According to the Associated Humane Societies, the refuge is "a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds."
The area is protected by the “New Jersey Pinelands Comprehensive Management Plan of 1979, which has placed limits on the development in these areas”. The two prominent roads for the area are Lacey Road and Dover Road, which provide the only direct routes to Bamber Lake. The lake has two beachfronts and a man-made dam with a walk across bridge.

Forked River is located on U.S. Route 9 south of Toms River. The community of Lanoka Harbor is directly north of Forked River, Bamber Lake is to the west, Barnegat is to the southwest, and Waretown is to the south. Forked River is also the name of a nearby river that empties into Barnegat Bay.
The road briefly turns east and runs through a wooded part of Millstone Township, Monmouth County. [1] [2] CR 539's traffic circle intersection with US 130 in Cranbury. After a turn to the north, CR 539 enters East Windsor Township in Mercer County and passes farms with some homes, intersecting CR 630 before passing over the New Jersey Turnpike .
