Manor (/ ˈ m eɪ n ər / MAY-nər) is a city in Travis County, Texas, United States. Manor is located 12 miles northeast of Austin and is part of the Austin-Round Rock metropolitan area . The population was 13,652 at the 2020 census.
The Brenham Daily Press was founded by George Tucker in 1893. In 1913, it merged with the Brenham Daily Banner to form the Brenham Daily Banner Press, which was published as a daily and weekly newspaper from 1913–1926. [2] The paper became the first daily in Texas to hire a female editor, in 1917. [3]
Manor Independent School District (MISD) is a public school district based in Manor, Texas . The district serves much of Manor, as well as a wide section of northeastern Austin and a small portion of Pflugerville. [1] In 2022, the school district received a C rating from the Texas Education Agency.
The Brenham Downtown Historic District was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2004. Buildings in the district were designed by Alfred C. Finn , James Wetmore , and others in Classical Revival and other styles. [ 1 ]
