San Vicente Creek (Spanish for "St. Vincent") is a 22.2-mile-long (35.7 km) [1] stream in San Diego County, California.. It rises east of Ramona and flows southwest through the Cuyamaca Mountains into San Vicente Reservoir, and subsequently to its confluence with the San Diego River just north of Lakeside.
Between 1885 and 1891, the San Diego, Cuyamaca, and Eastern Railroad was extended from San Diego through El Cajon to the town of Foster, northeast of Lakeside. [13] [14] In 1896, the stagecoach line connected the terminus of the railroad line in Foster to Julian, and transported the San Diego newspapers to Ramona by 2:30 pm each day. [15]
Ramona is a census-designated place (CDP) in San Diego County, California.The population was 21,468 at the 2020 census, up from 20,292 at the 2010 census.. The name Ramona also refers to an unincorporated community of San Diego (with some plans to incorporate) [3] [4] that includes both the Ramona CDP and the adjacent CDP of San Diego Country Estates.

San Vicente Dam is a concrete gravity dam on San Vicente Creek near Lakeside and 25 km (15.5 mi) northeast of San Diego, California. The dam was built between 1941 and 1943 and created San Vicente Reservoir for the purpose of municipal water storage , flood control and recreation.
