Koeltztown (KELTS'-town) is an unincorporated community in southern Osage County, Missouri, United States. [1] It is located approximately seventeen miles southeast of Jefferson City and is one of the oldest settlements in Osage County. Founded in 1858, the community was named after its first postmaster, August Koeltze.
These buildings were added to the National Register on November 17, 1982 as, "St. Boniface Roman Catholic Church, School, Rectory, and Convent of the Sister of the Precious Blood". [2] The records of St. Boniface, St. Nicholas and Ss. Peter & Paul were microfilmed by the Bowling Green State University Center for Archival Collections in 2001. [3]

The area in which Missouri City is now located holds a significant part in the history of Texas that dates back to its early days as part of the United States. In August 1853, the Buffalo Bayou, Brazos and Colorado Railway (BBB&C), began operating its first 20 miles (32 km) of rail line that stretched from Harrisburg (now Houston) to Stafford's Point (now Stafford).
The name St. Boniface was conferred in honor of St. Boniface, the patron saint of Germany. The church was built in 1868 by Reverend Henry Grall. [1] St. Boniface parish had been under responsibility of diocesan priests until 1947. [2]
DeWalt has been absorbed by the municipality of Missouri City, a Houston suburb. Though Dewalt was noted on highway signs as late as 2013, there are few surviving structures and locations from the original community. In 2006, the Dew Plantation's house was moved from DeWalt to nearby Kitty Hollow Park to preserve it as a museum.
