Record (Portuguese:), formerly known as Rede Record and RecordTV, is a Brazilian free-to-air television network.It is currently the second largest commercial TV station in Brazil, and the 28th largest in the 2012 world ranking.
Programs are aired 24 hours daily with 15 hours live via digital terrestrial TV networks, pay TV providers and live streaming services in Brazil. The channel is owned by the Brazilian entrepreneur Douglas Tavolaro through Times Brasil in partnership with Attention Economics of the United Kingdom, in collaboration with Comcast 's NBCUniversal .

Grupo Record is the third largest media company in Brazil, the company owns several television stations such as Record and Record News, was founded in November 1989 and belongs to the businessman and bishop Edir Macedo.
Rede Record also said that Record News was located outside the city of São Paulo, so Record News was broadcasting legitimately. Rede Record also mentioned Rede Globo's past dealings which could be considered illegal and a crime in Brazilian law, and Rede Globo's relationship with Brazil's military dictatorship .
The first TV Rio was on the air from 1955 to 1977, broadcasting on channel 13 VHF. Initially, TV Rio had its own schedule but exchanged productions with São Paulo's TV Record, owned by the Machado de Carvalho family (João Batista "Pipa" do Amaral, founder of TV Rio, was the brother-in-law of Paulo Machado de Carvalho).
