Elim Fellowship is a Finished Work Pentecostal denomination of Christianity. [1] It was founded in 1933 in Lima, New York, United States. It is named for a biblical location named in Exodus 15:27, wherein Elim is described as an oasis in the wilderness.
The present church building was founded as Horbury Chapel, and used by the Hornton Street Congregational church, Notting Hill, in 1849. [1] The building was purchased in 1930 by George Jeffreys . [ 2 ] who, in 1935, renamed it as Kensington Temple, Church of the Foursquare Gospel [ 3 ] [ 4 ] , becoming Elim's flagship church.

The Methodist Church operated a new Genesee Junior College at the site from 1947 to 1951, when Elim Bible Institute bought the 75-acre (300,000 m 2) campus and buildings for $75,000. [7] Two campus buildings, Genesee Wesleyan Seminary, and Genesee College Hall , were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.
In 1985 the church in San Salvador had about 3,000 people. Elim decided to develop the prayer cell concept of Yoido Full Gospel Church, South Korea. [4] On July 13, 1986, the church opened a radio station named "Radio Restoration" which became one of the country's top religious radio station ever since. In 1988, the attendance rose to 20,000.
The Union Chapel was the base for this work from 1905 until 1927 [1] or 1931, [23] when the Elim Pentecostal Church bought it. It became known as the Elim Free Church or the Elim Tabernacle of the Four Square Gospel, and internal alterations removed almost all the interior fittings from the 1825 reconstruction. [23]
