Myakka River State Park is a Florida State Park, that is located nine miles (14 km) east of Interstate 75 in Sarasota County and a portion of southeastern Manatee County on the Atlantic coastal plain. This state park consists of 37,000 acres (150 km 2), making it one of the state's largest parks. It is also one of the oldest parks in the state.
The park includes the Myakkahatchee Creek and connection to the T. Mabry Carlton Reserve, [5] basic camping areas, 3.7 miles (6.0 km) of trails available for hiking, bike riding, and horseback riding, a picnic area, a parking area, and restrooms.
Myakka City (also Myakka) is an unincorporated community in southeastern Manatee County, Florida, United States. It lies along State Road 70 near the city of Bradenton , the county seat of Manatee County. [ 1 ]
It is fed by Big Slough, [1] and it is a tributary of the Myakka River. [2] The stream supplies water to the city of North Port. [1] North Port Boulevard in the city of North Port runs parallel to the creek, and it was named Myakkahatchee Boulevard until 1975. [3]
The Myakka State Forest is in the U.S. state of Florida. The 8,593-acre (35 km 2) forest is located on the southwest coast, in North Port. See also.

The Myakka River is a river in southwestern Florida. It arises near the Hardee - Manatee county line and flows southwest and then southeast through Manatee, Sarasota and Charlotte counties to Charlotte Harbor , an arm of the Gulf of Mexico .
