MCPS MAP scores are a percent or two higher than national averages, according to the statistics that MCPS publishes. We also know from the MCPTA info they recently released through their FB group that the top 15% at a low-farms school is roughly the top 5% locally. report. 05/06/2023 08:58.
It is impossible to overstate how unimportant this is. When your kid MAP score is over 255, the range '-100 ~+50' thing starts to diminish, and at some point the lexile range is not range anymore, just the same top and bottom number. I think it is mid 260s. I doubt kid's teacher (8th grade) will know.

275 in 8th grade, 268 in 9th and 271 in 10th. (Lexile in the 1750-1900 range) These are all strong scores but does it matter that they don't show progress in three years? There used to be noticeable jumps from year to year before 8th grade. report. 09/26/2017 17:12. Subject: What is the highest MAP-R score possible?
At our school, 4th and 5th graders don’t have math at the same time, so it wouldn’t be possible. Compacted math is in 4th grade so if your 3rd grade MAP score is that high, more than likely they will be in compacted math automatically and if not, you can always request it and see what they say. They will not jump your kid over 4/5 compacted ...
