If you have kids in a HS magnet program in MCPS then that is better but for the general honors/AP or regular path Frederick is better. MCPS is too large and the high schools are getting too big.
One is in VA, the other in MD - there're more differences with what Richmond and Annapolis let locals do on their own. Va is more laissez-faire with business; MD a bit more hands on. There are 2 programs I see. 1) Excel Beyond the Bell is offered at. Argyle. Lee. Forest Oak. Loiederman. Clemente. Neelsville. 2) Rec Extra-Middle Schools--all the guide says is check with your school's after school activities coordinator for more information so I don't know what schools that this is in.
You come in with a debate partner. They practice perhaps one day after school per week and then develop the arguments on their own with their partner. Each child 'volunteers' a parent to be a judge at 3-4 of the 6 competitions. The competitions are about once a month after school (3:30-6:30 or so) and end February.

the comparison is flawed. Blair has a magnet program that pulls in students from across the county. Poolesville is a whole school magnet. RM has the IB program. Blair without the magnet is one of the worst. '. And the rest is high SES ....so only school that is great is Magruder. report. 12/06/2014 22:05.
