The Lone Star Conference (LSC) is a college athletic conference affiliated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division II level. Member institutions are located in the South Central states, with schools in Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico, with two members in the Pacific Northwest states of Oregon and Washington competing as affiliates for football only.

The Lone Star Conference men's basketball tournament is the annual conference basketball championship tournament for the Lone Star Conference. The tournament has been held annually since 1981. It is a single-elimination tournament and seeding is based on regular season records. [1]
The football portion of the Lone Star Showdown ended in 2011 when Texas A&M moved to the Southeastern Conference (SEC).
