On 1 September 2011, Bexleyheath School became Bexleyheath Academy, sponsored by the London Academies Enterprise Trust (LAET), part of the Academies Enterprise Trust (AET) family of schools. Headmaster Malcolm Noble retired after 14 years in the 2007 Summer term. He was replaced on an interim basis by Paul O'Brien.
The school was established by La Sainte Union (Holy Union) sisters in 1953 as a convent school. [1] It was converted to with academy status in February 2012, and was previously under the direct control of Bexley London Borough Council.
