The Blacklist is an American crime drama television series that premiered on NBC on September 23, 2013. Raymond "Red" Reddington (James Spader), a former government agent turned high-profile criminal, who had eluded capture for decades, voluntarily surrenders to the FBI, offering to cooperate on capturing a list of criminals who are virtually impossible to catch.
Liz avoids capture and, with Reddington's help, frees the others. They infiltrate the presidential debate to stop the assassination of The President, but the First Lady is shot and Liz, Ressler and Aram are arrested. Reddington and his men assault the convoy taking them to be murdered. Dembe turns up and kills McMahon, saving Reddington's life.
The ninth season explores the reunion of Raymond Reddington (James Spader) and the members of his disbanded Task Force two years after Reddington's failed attempt to hand his empire over to Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone) and the murder of the latter.
