As of the 2020 United States census , the township's population was 9,121, [ 9 ] [ 10 ] an increase of 308 (+3.5%) from the 2010 census count of 8,813, [ 18 ] [ 19 ] which in turn reflected an increase of 1,596 (+22.1%) from the 7,217 counted in the 2000 census .
