"Snowbird" is a song written by Canadian singer-songwriter Gene MacLellan. Though it has been recorded by many performers, it is best known through Anne Murray 's 1969 recording, which—after appearing as an album track in mid-1969—was released as a single in mid-1970.
A single release of "Snowbird" was issued in the U.S. in 1970, where it reached No. 8 in the Billboard Top 10 and started Murray's career there. [2] The album peaked at No.13 on the Canadian RPM album chart on 20 February 1971. Buddy Cage plays pedal steel guitar on this album. He went on to join the New Riders of the Purple Sage.

The disc was released in October, 2008 through Manhattan Records, and features ten previously released cuts; four new recordings completed in 2008; and a previously unissued live recording from 2001 with Diana Krall.
