Demis Roussos was a prolific Greek internationally renowned singer, songwriter and musician who sang in a number of languages and during the course of his career made at least 293 recordings including 38 albums, 154 singles and EPs, 92 compilations and one DVD.
Roussos was born and raised in Alexandria, Egypt, in a Greek family. [3] [4] His father, George (Yorgos) Roussos, was a classical guitarist and an engineer, and his mother, Olga (1923–2019), participated with her husband in an amateur theatrical Greek group in Alexandria (there were three such groups in the Greek community); her family originally came from Greece.
