The Avett Brothers / ˈ eɪ v ɪ t / are an American folk rock band from Concord, North Carolina. [4] Scott's paternal grandparents were Reverend Clegg Avett, a Methodist minister, and Martha (Hogan) Avett, a former concert pianist. [4] Scott is the middle of three children.
