Fairmount Food Group, LLC [1] (FFG) is a food industrial company headquartered in Dallas, Texas.Established in 2003 by Bing Graffunder (CEO) and Sam Hillin (CFO), the company began with an initial $200 million in equity financing from GTCR Golder Rauner with the purpose of buying out growth companies in the industry.
In 1941, Gossner opened a cheese factory in Cache Valley, Utah, a location he chose because the climate and elevation resembled that of Switzerland, and because of the abundant supply of local milk. In 1946, his factory was the largest Swiss cheese factory in the world, producing 120 200-pound (91 kg) wheels of cheese each day. [6]
The product range was originally manufactured at a factory which was built in 1948 in Coleraine, County Londonderry for the manufacture of roller and spray dried powders, sterilised cream, butter and other products, and in 1951, the plant was expanded to begin production of about 5 tonnes of cheddar cheese a day from about 13,000 gallons of full cream milk.
