Ellen Wrenshall Grant (July 4, 1855 – August 30, 1922) was the third child and only daughter of U.S. President Ulysses S. Grant and First Lady Julia Grant. At the age of 16, Nellie was sent abroad to England by President Grant, and was received by Queen Victoria. As a teenager growing up in the White House, she attracted much attention.
He was the son of Frederick Fayette Dent (1787–1873) and Ellen Bray (née Wrenshall) Dent (1793–1857). [1] He graduated from West Point in 1843. One of Dent's classmates was Ulysses S. Grant, who married Dent's sister Julia. The children of Ulysses and Julia Grant included Dent's namesake, Frederick Dent Grant. [1]
