St. Joseph Hospital, later known as Trinity Hospital, was founded in 1952. The hospital had 110 licensed beds at the time. [1] It quickly grew to its present-day size of about 231 licensed beds and became known for pioneering many medical firsts.
In town, it intersects US 78/SR 10 and then, the Ronald Reagan Parkway; the Eastside Medical Center, Snellville's largest employer, is located on this portion of the route. The new exit will be located between exit 115, for SR 20, and exit 120, for Hamilton Mill Road/Hamilton Mill Parkway. The board voted in July 2019 to accept about $20 million (equivalent to $23.5 million in 2023 [9]) in federal and state grants to pay for the construction of the new interchange. E.R.
