The park includes 274 campsites, as well as a campground store. Despite its name, swimming is not allowed at the park. [1] The park installed the 18-hole "Shore Winds Disc Golf Course" in 2009, [1] which starts near the back of the park and includes several holes playing along the Lake Ontario shoreline. The park may be accessed from Route 18.
Hamlin Beach first became a park in 1929, after Monroe County purchased a total of 597 acres (2.42 km 2) for $169,373. The park, initially known as Northwest Beach Park, consisted of the former Charles Wolf property and surrounding farmland. The park's name was changed to Hamlin Beach Park in 1930. [3]

The parkway continues north, crossing a causeway and bridge to the mainland, where it passes a parkway information booth before ending at SDG County Road 2 at Long Sault; SDG County Road 35 (Moulinette Road) continues north into the town. Fair Haven Beach State Park is a 1,141-acre (4.62 km 2) state park [2] on the southeastern shore of Lake Ontario in upstate New York. It is located on the east side of Little Sodus Bay in the town of Sterling in Cayuga County, northeast of the village of Fair Haven. The southern part of the park is sometimes called Fair Haven State Park.
