After War Gundam X (Japanese: 機動新世紀ガンダム X （ エックス ）, Hepburn: Kidō Shin Seiki Gandamu Ekkusu, lit. Mobile New Century Gundam X), is a 1996 [1] Japanese anime television series and the seventh installment in the long running Gundam franchise that started in 1979, but takes place in an alternate timeline called After War (A.W.; アフターウォー or 戦後, Sengo).
The series was first unveiled during the "Gundam Conference Winter 2024" livestream on December 4, 2024, revealing the series' official trailer. It marked the first Gundam production to be co-produced by Studio Khara, [2] and is largely creatively led by staff who once worked for Gainax on several anime such as Evangelion, FLCL, and Diebuster. [2]
During X-Factor #16–24, the character is presumed dead after losing his wings and apparently killing himself in a plane crash. Angel was dramatically revamped as a character, given a new costume, blue skin, and metallic wings which could fire blades. He first appeared as Archangel in X-Factor #24 (Jan. 1988).
In X-Factor #10, the Marauders, a group of mutant mercenaries, severely injure Angel's wings, which are later amputated. Despondent, Angel attempts suicide by detonating his airliner mid-flight, but Apocalypse rescues him and transforms him into Death, one of his Four Horsemen , giving him metal wings and blue skin.
Mu then rejoins the Archangel to help end the war and becomes the pilot of the ORB-01 Akatsuki mobile suit. At the end of Gundam SEED Destiny, Mu blocks a positron cannon from hitting the Archangel (mirroring the events at the end of Gundam SEED), causing him to regain his memories. He stays with Murrue after the events of the sequel.
Lacus Clyne (ラクス・クライン, Rakusu Kurain) is a fictional character introduced in the Japanese science fiction anime television series Mobile Suit Gundam SEED and appearing in the sequels Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny and Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom, all three of which are part of the Gundam franchise by Sunrise.
