Chandrabindoo (often spelled Chandrabindu), based in Kolkata, is a Bengali band known for satirical, colloquial lyrics, with references to current affairs and cultural phenomena. The band is chiefly popular in the Indian city of Kolkata , and in cities like Delhi and Mumbai that have a large expatriate Bengali population.
After the success of this song, he became initiated in the Kolkata college festival circuit. In 1989, the band Chandrabindoo was formed, by him along with his college mates Rajesh Bose, Upal Sengupta and Chandril Bhattacharya. [5]
Bhattacharya is one of the main lyricists of the Bengali band Chandrabindoo and also occasionally sings for them. His idiomatic lyrics are laced with satire and critiques of modern society. Chandril, together with Anindya Chatterjee won the 2010 National Film Award for Best Lyrics for the song "Pherari Mon" in the film Antaheen (2009).
Timir was one of the founding members of the Asansol-based band Muzik Street. He initially played the keyboard, and later as a vocalist. [3] Later he left the band and shifted to Kolkata.
