Arlington High School (AHS), located in Arlington, Texas, United States, is a secondary school serving grades 9-12. It is one of the six high schools comprising the Arlington Independent School District .
Most students attending TJ will go on to Wakefield High School but some will later go to Washington-Liberty High School. Thomas Jefferson is the only middle school in Arlington Public Schools to offer the Inaternational Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IBMYP). Their mascot is the Yellowjackets. With the alternative education movement in full stride in the late 60s and 70s, there was growing demand for such a school in Arlington. In 1969 Experiments in Free-form Education (EFFE) were conducted at each of the Arlington high schools, in response to the dissatisfaction many students, parents, and teachers had expressed with the current policies.
