Nagato (Japanese: 長門), known primarily under the alias of Pain (ペイン, Pein), is a fictional character in the manga and anime series Naruto created by Masashi Kishimoto. Nagato is the figurehead leader of the Akatsuki who wishes to capture the tailed beasts sealed into various people around the shinobi world.
Nagato continues talking to Naruto and describes his second pain, how he and Konan helped Yahiko use what they learned from Jiraiya to create the Akatsuki to bring peace to Hidden Rain Village. But Hanzo deemed Yahiko's group a threat to his regime and allied with Danzo to kidnap Konan.
Meanwhile, Yahiko, Konan and Nagato head to a small village that was attacked earlier by Hidden Stone ninja, deciding to approach them to resolve this peacefully. But the attackers refuse to listen with Yahiko forced to kill one with him and Konan being injured enraged Nagato enough to unconscious summoning the Gedo Statue in response.
Obito converts the reanimated bodies of the captured Jinchuriki into his own "Six Paths of Pain" (ペイン六道, Pein Rikudō) to use the captured Tailed Beasts' power. [ 26 ] [ 27 ] He fights Naruto Uzumaki and Killer B, who stop the Six Paths of Pain and leave Obito to recover the Tailed Beasts and revive the Ten-Tails. [ 28 ]
